Today marks Polar Pride Day. Where we celebrate the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in the Polar world. A world that is not confined to just the two Poles, but rather the 59 nations who have signed the Antarctic Treaty, the 8 Arctic states, the 13 Arctic observer states and all the others who have expressed interest in the region. The impact of the Polar world and the contributions of those who work in it are truly felt globally.
We would like to encourage everyone to celebrate Polar Pride in the most colourful and exciting way that you see fit. Here in London the BAT Government and the wider Polar Regions team held a rainbow afternoon tea and dressed accordingly.
